The Carolina Medical Center has an extensive history in the medical care of Olympic sportsmen. Doctors of the clinic were present, amongst others, during the Summer Olympics in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, as well as during the Winter Olympics in Turin 2006.

On the March 23, 2010, under the Partnership Agreement between the Polish Olympic Committee and the Carolina Medical Center, the clinic became the provider of medical care for dozens of top Polish athletes. CMC specialists gave treatment and advice in areas such as orthopaedics, traumas and neurosurgery consultations, diagnostic and laboratory tests, and the systematic monitoring of the participants’ health status. In the future, Carolina Medical Center’s specialists will also focus on training and optimizing the efficiency of our Olympic athletes.

As part of the diagnostic tests, the Polish athletes will benefit from MRIs and CT scans as well as the services of our functional rehabilitation program and physiotherapy department.  If necessary, CMC will also provide in-patient care should operations be required to repair injuries acquired in the course of Olympic preparations and the Games themselves.

"We are proud to work with the Polish Olympic Committee, especially since it includes working to raise standards of medical care for athletes, in addition to that of Polish medical services in general. Members of the Polish Olympic team will be looked after by top-class professionals working at the Carolina Medical Center. The Clinic’s infrastructure allows us to select care programs not only to expedite specific treatments or rehabilitation suited to the individual,  but also that work in harmony with the training regime and  physique of each athlete as well. This may of course affect their results. "- Krzysztof Cetnar, CEO of Carolina Medical Center.

Piotr Nurowski, the President of the Polish Olympic Committee said, "The Polish Olympic Committee is very pleased to be cooperating with such a reputable and professional organization that is built around a first class medical care infrastructure." He then went on to say, "As a result of this cooperation, our best players both in summer and winter sports will be well covered in the fields of orthopaedics, traumatology and rehabilitation to the highest standards. Obviously, everyone wishes for our athletes not to have to need medical assistance, but in case they do – they will have a clinic that strives to provide the best medical care in the industry.”
