Neurosurgery Professor, head of the Neurosurgery and the Nervous System Trauma department of the Postgraduate Education Centre in Warsaw.

University teacher - led and conducted doctoral thesis of many doctors.

• A graduate of the Warsaw Medical University.
• He participated in the European Neurosurgical Training / 1987-1991 /, and took individual neurosurgical training placements in Finland, Germany, Sweden, Italy, the United States, Belgium and Japan.
• He also participated in European training on the treatment of pain by stimulation of the nervous system intended for advanced users.

• The author of over 100 original papers published in national and foreign literature.
• The author, editor or co-author of 18 books.
• Creator of one of the world's first novel brain tissue transplants to treat Parkinson's disease (his name appeared in the Chronicle of the Twentieth Century).
• As one of the few in the world he conducted a series of brain surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass and deep hypothermia (he performed over 3000 operations of cerebral aneurism).
• As the first in this part of Europe he carried out the operation of the brain pacemaker implantation in the treatment of dystonia. The operation was carried out in conjunction with neurosurgeons from France.
• As the first in this part of Europe he performed surgery to pacemaker implantation of deep brain structures in the Toutette syndrome. The operation was carried out in conjunction with neurosurgeons from Germany.
• As the first in Poland, together with neurosurgeons from the United States of America, he conducted a series of deep brain stimulation surgeries to treat Parkinson disease.
• He directed and was a performer of many scientific programs carried out by the Scientific Research Committee.

For his achievements he was awarded the President’s prize, the Ministry of Health prize - two times, Scientific Research Committee’s President prize and Polish Television scientific programmes prize.
